A TOP New Forest tourist attraction is set to stay shut amid claims that the Grade II listed building has been allowed to deteriorate.
Eling Tide Mill - the only building of its type in the UK - was closed in December following the suspension of its manager and the launch of an inquiry into its finances.
Opposition members on New Forest District Council, which owns the mill, say the closure follows growing concern about the state of the historic building.
The 18th century site is run by Eling Tide Mill Trust, which has issued a statement acknowledging that several health and safety issues need to be addressed, including the welfare of visitors and staff.
