HAMBLE'S giant BP oil terminal has won the accolade of terminal of the year for the second time from the company's logistics division which is responsible for 12 distribution and storage terminals throughout the UK.
The award, previously won in 2001,was for the implementation and development of government regulations relating to terminal and, road tanker safety, relations with the local community, financial control and projects such as the composting of waste and a wetlands which filters surface water.
Terminal manager Mike Myden said: "We're all delighted. It's a tribute to the way we operate."
The terminal, which em-ploys 80 people, began operating in 1924.
