There were more twists in the premier title race as poor finishing let Sporting BTC down.
Their 0-0 draw with Eastleigh Comrades leaves them needing to win their final two fixtures in order to overhaul leaders Botley Village on goal difference.
They play tonight (6pm at BTC) against strugglers Priory Rovers, who must win to stand any chance of staying in the top flight. Then they meet cup finalists Lyndhurst STJ's (Wed 6pm at Stoneham Park). Neither side will lie down for them with so much at stake.
Botley kept in front by virtue of a hard fought 2-1 win at Blackfield & Langley Reserves who led through Gary Hawkins. Gordon McKeen levelled by half-time and stroked away a late penalty to seal victory despite heroics from keeper Gary Bull.
Botley must now sweat on Sporting's results and are still on for a league and cup double should Sporting slip up - as they face Lyndhurst in the League Cup final at Stoneham Park on Bank Holiday Monday (May 3).
Priory Rovers kept their faint survival hopes alive with a fine 4-1 win against Lyndhurst STJ's who led through Scott Munday. Rovers returned with goals from Chas Roath, Kieran Campbell, Lee Turski and Danny Marsh but must beat Sporting and also BTC Soton on Saturday at BTC and hope that BTC fail to beat Eastleigh Comrades on Wednesday (6pm at BTC).
