A 25-stone woman from Fareham who needed hospital treatment but couldn't walk had to be lifted out of her home and into an ambulance by six firefighters.
Paramedics called firefighters to help when they realised the woman was too heavy for them to lift alone out of her Miller Drive home.
She was put on to an envelope stretcher and carried out of her upstairs bedroom, down stairs and into a waiting ambulance which took her to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham on Thursday.
A spokesman for the fire brigade said: "We don't know exactly what was wrong with her but she was in pain and clearly needed to go to hospital.
"Unfortunately her weight meant she wasn't strong enough to stand on her own."
