SHOPPERS in Winchester are to get the chance to get their hands on the freshest local fruit this weekend, courtesy of the city's Farmers' Market.
Now the largest market of its kind anywhere in the UK, the Winchester Farmers' Market offers a wide range of fresh local produce, all produced in Hampshire or within ten miles of the border.
The 86 stallholders will provide a wide selection of seasonal fruit, freshly baked bread, cooked meats, cheeses, smoked fish, chutneys, beer, wine, fresh salads, cakes and jams.
There will also be plenty of chances to try before you buy and a free-range hog roast for those left starving by the shopping.
The event runs from 10am until 2pm this Sunday, with the next Winchester Farmers' Market on Sunday, August 31. For further information call Tessa Driscoll on 01962 845135.
