A STATE-of-the-art specialist dental surgery in Fareham is opening its doors to patients from across the south.

A number of specialist dentists will treat some of the region's most serious dentistry problems at the Wessex Dental Specialist Centre which has now opened in the Gardens, off Broadcut.

The centre houses seven advanced treatment rooms, a consulting room, a surgical suite, and a room equipped for teaching. There are also seminar and lecture facilities which can hold up to 40 people with audio-visual linkage to the clinical areas, and a 1,700 sq ft dental laboratory. The equal partners and key clinicians at the centre are Martin Lovell (Prosthodontics and Implants), Alan Woodman (Periodontics), Stephen Taylor (Oral Surgery) and Stewart Hawthorn (Orthodontics).

Colin Dale and Kerstin Kaufmann run the dental laboratory team.

No general practice dentistry will be carried out at the centre.

A series of open days and introduction evenings are planned throughout April and May to allow dentists and patients to view the centre and its activities.
