Andover 14 Winchester 15
CFL-sponsored Andover RFC finished their London 2 campaign on Saturday, entertaining local rivals Winchester in a bottom of the table clash.
On a beautiful spring day the All Blacks were boosted before by the third team who, by beating Winchester themselves, had won their league.
Winchester were committed to the win and the game's early exchanges were between the ten yard lines with neither side gaining the upper hand.
Andover were determined to move the ball quickly around the park and were the first to score, Keith Mitchell slotting two penalties but Winchester were quick to reply.
A long penalty into the corner put pressure on the Andover defence and a pass released prop Adey Mort who barrelled his way over.
This was converted and Andover found themselves behind 6-7.
Penalties were exchanged before the end of the half but Winchester were quickly out of the blocks after half-time and extended their lead with a penalty goal.
