FIRST out of the blocks! The first letting has taken place at Knowle Village business Park in Fareham. Two years ago owners Gudgeon Developments bought the rural site, consisting of a 7,000 sq ft building with extra land for commercial development.
Phoenix Technical Services, whose company director is Simon Putman, agreed to take Unit E1, part of phase one, on a new six-year full repairing and insuring lease at a rental of £7 per sq ft.
It relocated from Segensworth West after outgrowing a shared unit there.
Phase one is complete, comprising six new industrial/warehouse units ranging from 1,540 sq ft to 3,770 sq ft.
The letting was carried out on behalf of Gudgeon by Young & Butt and Fareham-based surveyors Daniells Harrison.
Phoenix Technical Support provides customers in Southampton, Locks Heath, Fareham and Portsmouth with a 24-hour emergency service for plumbing, refrigeration and air conditioning, repair and maintenance.
Phase two is now available and ranges from 1,130 sq ft to 3,870 sq ft.
BMT Reliability Consultants have already agreed terms on Unit F3 and were due to take up occupation this month.
Jerry Vigus, associate director in business space at Young & Butt, said: "We have had quite a high level of enquiries and viewings on this new estate, where Gudgeon Developments have created a business park environment in this rural location.
"We are obviously pleased to secure a letting to Phoenix Technical Services and we are also in discussions with a couple of other parties who have expressed an interest in the site."
