A PASSENGER had to be taken off Queen Mary 2 less than an hour after the superliner left Southampton on her maiden crossing to New York.
The 30-year-old man was taken off the ship by a lifeboat crew from Bembridge on the Isle of Wight after he suffered a suspected broken shoulder and arm.
QM2 was halted in the Solent between Ryde and Portsmouth at about 6.30pm while the rescue took place.
The man is recovering in hospital in Portsmouth.
