JOHN Eckton and Ted Perren jointly won the Royal Horticul-tural Society trophy at Andover Horticultual Society's spring show on Saturday.
They both produced dazzling daffodils and when the winners were announced at St Ann's Hall in Suffolk Road, Ted said: "Let John keep it - that'll save me having to polish it!"
Each year the show takes place around the 10 April and this year it fell on Easter Saturday.
Unfortunately some daffodils had gone over due to the variable weather.
But the quality was still high.
Ron's wife, Kath, won the best exhibit in the culinary class and first prize in the embroidery section.
Ted Lowry scooped first prize with his double daffodils.
Lucy Smith's beautiful woolly jumper won best exhibit in the handicraft section and her teacup plant also won a top prize.
