A Steve Witt goal 15 minutes from time gave Barry Andrews' Stockbridge side the Andover Open Cup on Wednesday last at a damp Portway Stadium.
It was hard on battling Mottisfont who matched their Premier Division opponents for endeavour and commitment and created the better chances in a frantic second half.
Mike Burgess twice went close in the early stages as Mottisfont dominated a half which was littered with free-kicks but with chances at a premium the game rarely flowed until after the break.
Charlie Spencer shot over from 20 yards then 'Font keeper Paul Fielder had to be brave when Witt was through as the first half closed out.
Former Andover man Michael Jackson was causing problems and went close with a header but it was Stockbridge who had more of the game as Mottisfont began to tire.
