SHE'S had a pig of a time - abandoned in the New Forest when just a few days old, then left on a doorstep in a cardboard box with just a fluffy toy for company - but Guinness has come out on top.
The month-old piglet, now living at the Out of Town Centre farm, near Beaulieu, shows no sign of her harrowing babyhood experiences.
Guinness - who one day will be a Large White - is putting on weight, her bristles are glossy, and her squeal shows the power of her lungs.
Vivien Drake, community officer for the Countryside Education Trust, which runs the centre, said: "We are delighted to have Guinness and we'll probably keep her.
"She's got a lovely character, though she doesn't like being picked up and lets you know it very loudly.
"It's a mystery what happened to Guinness. She was found somewhere in the Forest when she was about the size of your hand.
"Whoever found her left her at a local vet's in a box with a fluffy toy pig. The vet checked she was healthy and passed her to us.
"We've had her for a fortnight. She enjoys listening to classical music and she's doing well on goats' milk," said Vivien. "We've plenty of pigs here, so Guinness should find herself at home."
