The Old Shirley netball team are famed for being a little bit special.

These girls are fantastic friends. They love their netball so much that they give up weekends to play in places such as Brean Sands in north Somerset.

They are soon off to Brighton as they tell me there's a brilliant party atmosphere there.

What party animals!

When they play, you can tell they have been together for a while, as they each know where the other will be.

But, in the match I saw them play against Nationwide, they were beaten 33-24 in what was a good contest.

Meet the team:

GK: Bobbie Bridges is the loudest member of the team! This mum of one is an accountant's supervisor for TW Metal. She is also a Saints season ticket holder.
