JOAQUIN Phoenix and Clare Danes star in Harbour Lights' late night-movie,
Set in the near future, the film tells the story of a married couple who have become estranged but who fall in love again as they are about to get a divorce.
They find themselves fighting for their love and their lives in a world that is not what it seems.
John (Phoenix) and Elena (Danes), a world-famous ice skater, are married but have lived apart for years - he in Poland, her in New York.
Eventually John decides to go to New York to get a divorce but once they are together again the flames of their love are fanned.
John realises that strange things are happening around Elena and decides to try to save her from her destiny.
Danish writer/director Thomas Vinterberg is a relative newcomer to cinema and some have found that while he shines as a director he is let down by his own writing.
But this a brave, artistic movie about a conspiracy of epic proportions which is sure to get you thinking.
April 10, Harbour Lights, Ocean Village. Performance: 11pm. Box office: 023 8033 5533.
