TV CHEF Antony Worrall Thompson (above) has won the first Sacla' Italia Fiat 500 rally, in a car with red peppers painted on the bonnet, while television cookery rival Phil Vickery came a close second.
The contest took place in the lanes and byways around Beaconsfield in Bucking-hamshire on a beautiful spring day.
A total of nine vintage Fiat 500s took part, and the classic car collection can be seen at events across the country in coming months, all in aid of pesto makers Sacla'.
All the cars are more than 30 years old and have been fully restored and resprayed copper to match the company's colour scheme. Each one has a different vegetable on the bonnet.
The original Cinquecento - which means 500 in Italian - was recently voted one of the top 10 cars of all time by BBC's Top Gear.
Sacla' UK decided to adopt the iconic Italian car for its "small car, small jar" promotion, which will see the vehicles touring the country handing out samples and educating people in the merits of pesto and Italian food.
Other drivers taking part were Mark Hix of the Ivy restaurant and FIAT UK's managing director Massimo Toso, while ex-F1 driver Tiff Needell was there to wave them off.
