CAKE sale: If you are a devotee of home-made cakes, then you can over-indulge tomorrow.
The cake making team is holding a sale of cakes for Easter at the Village Club tomorrow, from 10am until sold out.
SPRING show: If you have some daffodils left in your garden, why not have a go in the Gardening Club Spring Show this Sunday?
Setting-up is from 10am to 12.30pm, and the show opens at 2.30pm, with prizegiving at 4pm.
PLANT sale: The Village Club will be having the annual perennial plant sale on Saturday, April 17, from 10am.
This sale features well-grown plants from local gardeners and is a chance to fill a whole garden or just a vacant space. You can also get advice on what will do well.
BUMPS and Babes: New and expectant mothers are invited to "drop in" at the Methodist Church Hall on Thursday, April 29, with the aim of forming a regular group.
If you are interested, call Louise Porton on 299371 for more information.
CHI KUNG: The evening course has been replaced by a monthly seminar, with the first being held on Sunday, April 18, from 2pm to 5pm.
For details, call Arlene Smith on 291243.
ROADWORKS: An attempt is being made to slow vehicles at the George and Horn junction by replacing the existing "ghost" islands by a coloured raised surface that will indicate more strongly the line to be taken.
Hopefully this will make it slightly safer to cross to and from the library but, don't get too excited, vehicles will still be able to drive over the surface.
The soft-surfaced footway from the top of Priors Hill to Foxs Lane is being hard surfaced. Both sets of work will be finished at the end of May.
