BRIGHTON Hill Pre-school children and staff enjoyed an Easter Hat Parade on March 31.
Parents and children had created many beautiful Easter bonnets for the young ones to wear for the parade. Children had also coloured pictures, and their art work and hats were entered in a draw for prizes.
It was party time, before the end of term, and the fun began by children forming a circle around a farmer to sing Farmer wants a wife.
Soon, blankets were spread out on the floor and, when children were sitting comfortably, a picnic was handed out. Snacks included fruit and Easter treats. Next, it was time for the Hokey Cokey.
Cameras kept clicking when children put on their bonnets for the Easter Parade. They lined up wearing fantastic hats, with nests, eggs, chicks, daffodils and pretty ribbons. Some of the boys wore crowns.
I was honoured to be asked to draw the names for prizes from a hat. The winning bonnet, worn by Charlotte, was a pretty hat tied on with long, white ribbons. The winning picture was a bright, distinctive design by Emmanuel.
Well done to everyone for their hard work and lovely contributions.

Miller's Ark Farm came to a nearby field for pre-school children to see and stroke animals on April 2. Creatures included ducklings, baby pigs, baby goats, lambs, chicks, a strutting cockerel and a young pony. Children appreciated being able to hold and admire the young creatures.
