THE Vyne: Apologies, the Easter Egg Hunt is, of course, this Sunday, not on Thursday as previously stated, and is from 10am to 3pm. No need to book, just turn up.

PAST Times: The film evening, organised by Bramley and Romans Floral Society on March 26, raised £175 for the society's funds, and was enjoyed by all.

INDIAN evening: The Bramley Group of the National Women's Register held an Indian evening on March 18.

This was part of a national event, and members enthusiastically entered into the theme.

Margaret, Lynne, Pat and Gill were draped in lovely saris, and everyone had a go at the quiz set by the NWR, and 10 members tasted Indian-style snacks.

Many thanks went to Gill and Ian for their hospitality for a very good evening.

BRITISH Red Cross Week: This will be from May 2 to 9, and there will be the usual house-to-house collection in Bramley. Volunteers are needed to help with the collection.

Anyone who can spare an hour or two during that week, please contact me on the number above.

THANKSGIVING Service: On March 30, there was a Thanksgiving Service in St James' Church for the life of Mary Bartlett, who passed away on March 23, aged 87.

Mary was a long-time resident of Bramley, living in her cottage on the corner of Vyne Road and The Street, before moving to Longbridge Road.

She was a strong supporter of St James' Church, always taking part in any activities.

The Monday Centre, and then Wednesday Lunch Club, were other social meetings Mary enjoyed.

Sadly, for the last two years, Mary needed care in Ashcombe House.

Bramley folk have many memories of Mary, who was always cheerful and interesting, and now they grieve for her passing with sympathetic thoughts for her family.
