TEST Valley Borough Council will be staging a special consultation in Andover Guildhall on 30 April.
Its aim is to test the water over a scheme to work closer with the community. The council is investigating the possibility of launching a compact - an agreement drawn up by voluntary and community groups and public bodies.
The aim would be to set out guidelines on how the various groups should work together and form relationships in order to deliver mutual benefits.
But before deciding whether to set up a compact, the council reckoned it was essential to hold a consultation event to see how different organisations and groups felt about the idea.
If there is support for the idea a compact would be established with local codes of practice to fit circumstances in Test Valley.
If you are interested in joining the consultation day from 10am to 12.30pm a booking form can be obtained from Janet Blann, Test Valley Community Services, Courtroom Chambers, Bell Street, Romsey, tel: 01794 519998, fax 01794 517122 or email romsey@tvcs.org.uk
