The Webb-Ellis Trophy, better-known as the World Rugby Cup, takes pride of place at Winchester's Great Hall as the county council hosts a reception as part of the Rugby Football Union's nationwide "Sweet Chariot Tour" to mark England's victory.
Hampshire can rightly claim to have played its part for hero of the moment, Jonny Wilkinson, was a member of the county's youth squads, having studied at Lord Wandsworth College, Long Sutton. The reception was also to thank the army of volunteers that ensure rugby continues to thrive in Hampshire.
