FORMER Saints star Wayne Bridge roars with delight after grabbing the dramatic late winner that sent Chelsea through to the European Champions League semi-finals last night.
Bridge, who only scored twice for Saints in 172 league and cup appearances, netted his third Chelsea goal of the season in the 87th minute to dump Arsenal out of their second cup competition in four days.
Winchester-born Bridge, who quit St Mary's in a £7m switch last summer, said after Chelsea's first win against Arsenal for five years: "We had the belief we would win - even at 1-0 down we felt we could do it. I am being called a goal hero and that's the last thing I expected.
"We got through, that was the main thing. I am just pleased for the club, the fans, everyone."
