CHRISTINE Delves has been voted Temporary of the Year by Office Angels in Basingstoke.
Christine, 50, from Hook, works in Basingstoke as a receptionist and was nominated for the award following praise from several companies for her professionalism, efficiency and adaptability.
The Temporary of the Year competition is part of Office Angels' temporary employees' incentive package, along with weekly temps lunches, cinema promotions and regular networking events.
Christine, who has worked in the town for six years performing reception, switchboard and administration duties on behalf of Office Angels, received a framed certificate and a Morphy Richards clock radio.
She said: "I was so shocked when they came into where I was working with a bottle of champagne and a bouquet of flowers to tell me I was Temp of the Year.
"It suits me being a temp because I like to do lots of different things. I also get to do the hours I want - sometimes I work full-time and sometimes part-time.
"They really do look after temps here at Office Angels."
Sally Fletcher, manager of the Basingstoke branch, said: "The Temporary of the Year award is an opportunity to give recognition for a job well done.
"Christine has shown total commitment to our clients this year. Her skills are first-class and all our clients ask for her to return whenever they have a temporary vacancy."
To coincide with the award, Office Angels conducted research among 8,000 of its current temporaries, looking into changing lifestyles and attitudes of today's temporary workforce.
Earning good money (72 per cent) and having a variety of work experience (65 per cent) topped the list of reasons why those surveyed preferred the flexibility of a temporary workers lifestyle.
More than half (56 per cent) said that extending their skills base is another advantage of temping.
