EXPERIENCE counted for a lot when Home James took on Totton in a Spring League match.

The table-toppers boasted an average age of 48 for their match against Totton but ran out 33-11 winners.

Home James are currently unbeaten in the Spring League after finishing second on goal average in the Winter League.

The girls, who have been playing together as a team for five years, do not train - they just turn up every week to play.

LET'S MEET HOME JAMES:

GS: Sarah Batchelor is the assistant manager of Peacocks in Shirley. She is also the mother of Laura, who also plays for Home James.

GA: Ann Pollington has been playing netball for 40 years and at school was taught by her team member Sue Sivier. She is a secretary for the NHS. Her hobbies include relaxing in the garden and badminton!

WA: Vicky Trumper is the youngest member of the team and is the daughter of Mandy. The imports clerk likes to socialise with team members in her spare time.

C: Sue Harvey works for social services. Netball is her main hobby but she also likes dog walking and bowling.

WD: Mandy Trumper was also taught at school by Sue Sivier. Her other hobby is playing badminton. Mandy, who has been playing for Home James for 20 years, is a very important member of the team - she always remembers to bring the balls and bibs!

GD Debbie Taylor is a house mother (rather than a house wife!) and works part0time at the Red Lion pub in Bittern Park. She enjoys swimming.

GK: Maggie Pearson is a Practice Nurse at a doctor's surgery. She likes gardening, golf, eating out and is also a bit of a party animal at heart.

Sue Sivier is the manager of the team and has been in netball for many years. She still plays, is a C award umpire and is the umpiring secretary.
