AFC Totton returned to winning ways with a 2-0 result at Andover, while neighbours BAT held in-form Fareham Town to a goalless draw at Southern Gardens.

The Tobaccomen should have gone ahead in a one-sided opening which saw Paul Beasley and Paul West denied by goalline clearances and Richard Gregory go close.

Fareham's best chances were from the head of Jamie Musselwhite, who went off injured in the second half.

BAT's performance was a marked improvement on Saturday's 1-0 defeat at relegation-fighting Downton.

Leader explained: "It made a big difference to have experienced people like Dave Lewis, Paul Masters and Andy Chance back available.

"They were quality and we showed a lot of pride and character to come back after Saturday's defeat.

"It was a moral victory for us tonight even though we didn't win. A lot of the lads re-signed for next season after the game, so it's been a good night."

Kevin James set Lymington on their way to a 2-0 home victory over lowly Alton with a goal in the first minute.

He later missed a penalty in the second half before Paddy James added a second.

Linnets boss Ian Robinson said: "We should have won by more."

And he added that it would be nice to see bigger attendances.

"You put a lot of hard work in but the people here don't seem to appreciate it," he confessed.
