A LINE-UP of high-octane thrill rides promises a sensational spring at Thorpe Park.
The mighty Samurai, the warlord of white-knuckle rides, has moved across to the park from Chessington and there's still Nemesis Inferno, Colossus and an abundance of other adrenaline-soaked action.
Samurai takes riders through 360 degrees of sensational stimulation and, like many famed warriors of Japan, it's capable of unleashing mighty forces of fearsome energy.
Riders are strapped into five-seater pods, with their legs dangling free. They're then lifted and rotated by a giant mechanical arm, gradually building speed and creating G-forces of plus five and minus three, as well as the centrifugal force which sets the pods spinning 60ft above the ground.
Nemesis Inferno is one of the world's most intense, disorientating and exhilarating roller coasters and on top of that it's got the temperature turned up.
Riders will swoop, legs dangling, through more than 750 metres of suspended track with 360 degree loops, soaring heights and dreadful depths, at speeds of up to 77km-an-hour and G-forces of up to 4.5.
Colossus is the world's first 10-looping roller coaster, hurtling over 850 metres of relentlessly twisting track at speeds of 65km-an-hour. There's a skyrocketing 360-degree loop, a giant flipping double cobra, a deadly duo of spiral loops and a breath-taking series of in-line twists over water and through the air.
Detonator is an explosive, gravity defying drop ride that winches riders 100ft in the air before firing them back to earth at 75km-per-hour, with a G-force of 5.5.
Vortex is not a ride for those who suffer from vertigo. It goes through 15 high-speed rotations per minute, while swinging back and forth 65 feet in the air.
Tidal Wave is one of the highest water drop rides in Europe and plunges riders 85ft.
Then there's Quantum, X:/No Way Out (the world's first backward roller coaster in the dark), and the Ribena Rumba Rapids, to name just two of the park's other attractions.
During the Easter holidays, prices are £20 for children under 12 and £27 for children aged 12 and over and adults.
