Basingstoke is the venue of a brand-new family entertainment centre -JJ 's World of Fun.So head on down to the Morse Road site for some Easter excitement.

JJ'S has three main play areas - Yellow, Red and Green.

The Green Area is segregated for the under-fives and designed with parents in mind. It has an upper level at adult face-height for parents to reach in and help their children.

If necessary, they can accompany toddlers in and out of the area as well.

In line with the fair play policies of owners Kevin Lucas and Darren Lamb, it has mini versions of most of the play facilities found elsewhere for older children.

It also has many of its own, unique attractions. These include the magic ball juggler and an educational games area.

The Yellow Area is an arena with cannons that fire foam balls at the central Splat Zone. "The great thing about it is that the cannon balls go so fast that you can't see them coming. But they're soft and spongy, so it doesn't hurt if you get hit," said Kevin.

Darren added: "In designing the cannon arena we recognised that all kids have different personalities. The trigger-happy ones will prefer to be behind the cannons, while those who love getting 'splatted' will act out dramatic fake deaths, and the less adventurous can get their kicks from watching the action from a panoramic glass viewing pod."

For the five-plus age group, there is the Red Area - full of all varieties of obstacles, games and fun, including the Wave Rider.

"As well as giving kids the feel of surfing on a mounted board, it also presents a great photo opportunity for parents, with the drapes in the background simulating rolling waves," said Kevin.

There are also four party rooms, one of which is a mini nightclub. Every Friday there is a disco when music is pumped around the whole play structure as well as on the dance floor in the club.

Add to these facilities a number of magnificent slides and a 140-seater restaurant, and JJ's emerges as a well thought-out, entertaining venue - ideal for all the family.

During the Easter holidays admission prices are £4.50 for the over-fives and £3.50 for the under-fives.
