Fareham lost their final game of the season 2-0 to Eastcote after a disappointing performance, but won promotion to the South 2nd XI Division 1 as Barnes failed to pick up any points at champions Purley.
Fareham went out needing only a point to gain promotion, but looked shaky from the start with Eastcote looking like the most likely to score during the first half.
It remained 0-0 until the 60th-minute however, when Eastcote slotted home a short corner, and then came straight back with another.
Despite looking quite promising going forward during the second half, Fareham failed to create any chances in the D, leaving them with a nervous 24-hour wait to see if results had gone their way.
Thankfully the news went their way and they claimed the second place promotion spot.
