THIS house will become home for five youngsters with autism.
The Hampshire Autistic Society has purchased the property in Whitworth Crescent, Bitterne, to provide residential care for children attending the charity's school, Hope Lodge.
Until now the society, which helps children and adults with autism, has only been able to provide day places or weekly boarding at the school.
The society's support services manager Mike Walsh said: "We are delighted to be able to offer this new service and are currently working hard refurbishing the house, ready to welcome our first students after the school holidays."
Fundraisers from the Gosport, Fareham and district branch of Soroptimist International have donated £1,800 towards the renovations cost.
If you would like to help refurbish the house, call Sally Stemp on 01489 880881.
