EASTLEIGH Museum is celebrating the talents of the town's up and coming young artists.
Artwork from current GCSE students is being showcased in an exhibition which runs until May 1.
The High Street museum has been working in partnership with some of the borough's secondary schools to present highlights of pupils' work.
A museum spokesman said: "School art is no longer just about still life drawing and landscape painting.
"These young artists have drawn on a wide range of influences as well as their own experiences and imagination in producing this unique collection."
Richard Needham, head of art at Thornden School, Chandler's Ford, said: "This is a brilliant opportunity for pupils to have their work seen by the wider community.
"I think the public will be very pleasantly surprised at the quality of work produced by students from the area. There ought to be more initiatives like this."
Called Artistic Innovations, the exhibition of GCSE student artwork covers a diverse range of media from painting and ceramics to textiles and sculpture.
Admission is free and the museum is open Tuesday to Friday, 10am-5pm, and Satur-days, 10am to 4pm.
