Hamble ASSC's draw at home to top-of-the-table Wimborne was marred by a horrific facial injury to midfielder Matt Flynn.
Right-sided Flynn, a university student signed from Winchester City Reserves four months ago, is expected to have an operation this week after suffering three fractures in his jaw and cheekbone during an off-the-ball incident.
Hamble boss Larry Clay said: "Something happened while he lay on the ground injured that I didn't see so it's difficult for me to comment on.
"He went straight to hospital and is going back today to have his eyes tested. His face totally caved in and he was in a lot of pain but he was in high spirits when I spoke to him yesterday."
Craig Rickman had given Hamble a first-half lead from the penalty spot after ten minutes before Wimborne equalised 20 minutes from the end.
