More than 250 music fans turned out last night to help Southampton band Delays celebrate the release of their debut album.
It was a wet Sunday night but nothing could dampen the enthusiasm of the fans or the band.
They packed Southampton's Virgin Megastore to watch the band from Bitterne play an exclusive gig before their album, Faded Seaside Glamour, went on sale at midnight.
The band played a 40-minute set before moving upstairs to sign albums for almost an hour.
The band - brothers Greg and Aaron Gilbert, Colin Fox and Rowley - played several tracks from their album, including current single Nearer than Heaven, which went into the charts at number 21 last Sunday and their biggest single so far, Long Time Coming, which went in at number 16.
"It's fantastic, I've been coming in here since I was 12 so to be playing here is really weird," said keyboardist Aaron about the warm reception the band received.
"I don't want to tempt fate by saying how well the album might do. I just want people to enjoy it.
"It all feels odd but a good odd," he concluded.
Wristbands to attend the gig were given away at the shop and with the Daily Echo.
