Romsey's place in London Division Four South-West is safe for another 12 months after Old Emanuel sank the US Portsmouth battleship and sent them into Hampshire Division One next season.
Although a heavily weakened Romsey were hammered 60-6 at KCS Old Boys, they had done enough to watch events elsewhere unfold and Emanuels' 39-7 success over the Servicemen lifted the Surrey men clear of the drop zone and sent US down.
Number eight Simon Coe's wedding denied the Sports Centre side a huge chunk of their regular side but the patched up outfit gave their all despite being put through the mill by fourth placed KCS.
But the beleaguered blue and golds were jumping for joy by the news of their survival, which turned glum faces into happy ones - and a chance to build for the future with another hard earned season of London League rugby.
Southampton watched the celebratory scenes of Purley John Fisher lifting the London Four title as the Surrey side ran through to their fifteenth league triumph of the season - a 46-15 win.
Julian Robins scored twice for the mix-and-match Saints who played their part in the game, but there was no stopping the undisputed champions, who will join Tottonians, Alton and Jersey in London Three South-West next term.
Tottonians wanted to make amends for their earlier league defeat to London Irish Amateur, but they could not have thought they would have done it in the fashion they achieved - a 75-0 humiliation.
But the Irishmen were severely understrength and only brought 15 men, which was reduced to fourteen after just 30 seconds as one of their flankers retired injured and 20 minutes later, they were down to 13 when the other wing-forward limped off.
For the hosts, it was nothing more than a training match as all scrums went their way, all line-outs were won and London Irish were causing no opposition to the free-flowing moves that saw Ali Ramus and Richard Buck help themselves to hat-tricks.
Even skipper Miles Northover, not a regular on the scoresheet, was on hand from a turn-over at a line-out to saunter over. "It was not much of a contest," he said. "But it could have been a lot more."
