AFC Totton boss Barry Blankley blamed two defensive errors for his side's 2-1 defeat at home to Thatcham.
Thatcham capitalised on both occasions in the second half to lead 2-0 at Testwood Park, where Stuart Ritchie scored a late consolation from two yards following a mistake from the visitors' keeper.
Blankley said: "We beat ourselves. We gave them both their goals because of needless defensive errors. We did well against the wind in the first half but we gifted them the three points after the break.
"It's disappointing. We desperately needed the win because we've got some tough games coming up but if we cut out the mistakes at the back we won't be far away from being a good side."
