Hamble ASSC's draw at home to top-of-the-table Wimborne was marred by a horrific facial injury to midfielder Matt Flynn.

Right-sided Flynn, a university student signed from Winchester City Reserves four months ago, is expected to have an operation this week after suffering three fractures in his jaw and cheekbone during an off-the-ball incident.

Hamble boss Larry Clay said: "Something happened while he lay on the ground injured that I didn't see so it's difficult for me to comment on.

"He went straight to hospital and is going back today to have his eyes tested. His face totally caved in and he was in a lot of pain but he was in high spirits when I spoke to him yesterday."

Craig Rickman had given Hamble a first-half lead from the penalty spot after ten minutes before Wimborne equalised 20 minutes from the end.

Fareham Town produced a five star performance after lowly Alton Town took a shock lead at Cams Alders.

The home side were rocked when they went a goal down after 15 minutes but Lloyd Mitchell made it 1-1 at half-time before Floyd Hamadou lobbed the Alton keeper - the first of four Fareham goals in 25 second half minutes.

Striker Jamie Musslewhite made it 3-1 on the hour after Hamdou had been upended in the penalty area and then Hamadou scored a brilliant second, a first time strike from 25 yards into the top left corner, before flicking on an 80th-minute corner that resulted in an Alton own goal.

Manager Jon Gittens said: "Floyd Hamadou played very well but no player had a bad game. We've been threatening a big win for some time and it could have been nine - their keeper had a great game."
