The Junior Hawks have an opportunity of closing the gap at the top of the NatWest Hampshire Under-16 Indoor cricket League at the Rose Bowl tomorrow evening.

Wins over Hursley Park and Basingstoke & North Hants will take the Hawks above Havant and into third place.

Fair Oak's 55-run defeat by Bournemouth last week ensures that the Chapel Gate youngsters and South Wilts have qualified for the title play-offs on March 21.

The young Oaks lost four wickets for 13 runs, collapsing from 31-0 to 44-4 against Bournemouth, who posted 141-4.

Simon Ridley, with an unbeaten 27 and 2-21, shone for Bournemouth, while Tom Stevenson (31) top-scored in Fair Oak's 86.

Eastleigh and Otterbourne CC cricket nets start this Sunday at Thornden School in Chandler's Ford.

Junior and colts nets are between 11am and 12pm, while the senior nets run between 12pm and 1pm, with a minimal charge for each.

Eastleigh and Otterbourne CC are always on the lookout for new players, whether they are junior/colts or adults, running two teams on a Saturday and with a Sunday team, and also a ladies team.

Anyone interested (of any ability) in coming along would be more than welcome and would find a friendly, relaxed club more than willing to accomodate them.

Any queries, please call either secretary Pete Barty on 07887 520570 or first team captain Colin Day on 07944 161890.
