MARK Thomas might not sport a cape or have any superhuman powers, but his crusade to fight social evils and stand up for truth and justice has been as tireless as that of any comic book superhero.
What's more, while he can't fly or see through walls, he is blessed with the ability to make his audiences cry with laughter - no mean feat when you're regaling them with information about arms deals and badly behaved big businesses.
Both thought-provoking and very funny, Mark tackles a huge range of issues relating to governmental and corporate exploitation in his show and sometimes even gives his audiences a chance to get involved in taking action themselves, dispensing free protest postcards for them to send or giving them the opportunity to contribute to a campaign fund.
At the Wedgewood Rooms next week Mark will be showcasing new material for a 'forthcoming project'.
It's almost impossible to see Mark's show without coming out inspired to do something to make the world a better place and believing that, if enough people try, maybe we can.
3rd February, Wedgewood Rooms, Southsea. Performance: 7.30pm. Tickets: from £8. Box office: 023 9286 3911.
