ANDOVER woman Shan Middleton claims her protest has stopped BT from erecting a telegraph pole outside her home.
The 55-year-old from Armstrong Rise, Charlton made her protest about the pole by sitting in the hole created for it - and staying there until the contractors left.
She was upset because, she said, the proposed pole would block the pathway running behind her home.
Shan Said: "Our problem was that BT wouldn't take no for an answer and that was why I had to sit in the hole.
"The pole would have blocked the walkway."
BT said they did not need planning permission to erect a telegraph pole. People could appeal once the poles were erected.
But Jason Mann, spokesman from BT said: "In view of the concerns raised we are reviewing the situation."
Shan said: "I think we have saved BT a lot of money, it would have had to come down eventually because it was in a walk way."
