MISTER Blobby took time off from appearing in pantomime at Southampton's Mayflower Theatre by picking up a cheque for a young people's campaign.
Members of the Garage Youth Centre at Eling Recreation Ground are on a campaign against vandalism and tagging in and around Totton.
One of the major features of the initiative will be the making of a video showing what damage can be done and sending out a "don't do it" message to others.
In order to fund the campaign and video camera, Totton's Asda superstore handed over a total of £663.
The money was raised in a charity raffle of Simba from the Lion King film.
It was handed over to Mr Blobby on Asda's behalf by New Forest East MP Doctor Julian Lewis, who was full of praise for the determined young club members.
