THE least menacing pirates in the theatrical canon hit the stage tonight as Southampton Operatic Society unveils its latest production.
The Pirates of Penzance runs at the Nuffield Theatre until Saturday.
The classic Gilbert and Sullivan operetta features several well-known songs, including Poor Wand'ring One, With Cat-like Tread and I am the Very Model of a Modern Major-General.
Performances are at 7.30pm. Tickets cost from £8.50.
