TOP overseas business representatives from countries as diverse as Germany, Egypt and Russia gathered in Southampton for a high-level training event at the Chilworth Business Incubator.

Wireless and broadband technology specialists Daisi Broadband Technology hosted the event for some

of their first international distributors.

Talks are now under way between the Southampton based operation and

potential distributors in three other countries in a further boost to the reputation of the city companies.

Newly-appointed business development manager Sean Sonander led the two-day training seminar where the representatives learnt about the latest technology as well as taking part in discussions concerning licensing issues, possible sales channels and targets for the forthcoming 12 months.

Managing director Garik Markarian said: "The evolution from research and development prototype to finished product has been extremely rewarding.

"Our focus is now on generating significant sales and revenue which can be ploughed back into the business.''

Diasi has only been in operation at the science park since last January but already the company has a number of highly exciting projects under development.

Mr Markarian highlighted the unique business opportunities available to incubation companies at Chilworth Science Park, including practical support from organisations such as Business Link Wessex and The Southampton Enterprise Hub, an initiative by regional development agency SEEDA designed to assist technology start-up companies.
