Sir.-The members of the Sapphire Sequence Dance Club fought a vigorous campaign to keep the Carnival Hall for the people of Basingstoke by attending all the Cabinet meetings to make sure it was not closed without a fight.
We are thankful that the council listened and agreed to refurbish the hall - pensioner power can work!
The dance club is now back in the hall and our members are so delighted with the result that we would like to invite all sequence dancers, or would-be dancers, to join us on Thursday, January 29, for a free evening of dancing from 7.45pm to 10pm.
-B Williams, Chairman, Sapphire Sequence Dance Club.
