CATHEDRAL visit: A party of more than 30 people from Tadley South and Silchester Benefice visited Winchester Cathedral recently.

After a lunch in the refectory (highly recommended and reasonably priced) there was a tour of the cathedral.

Besides seeing the many monuments it was also possible to go into the crypt and see the flooding.

Our guide then took us to the Epiphany Chapel for short prayers before tea and choral evensong.

It was a beautiful service with the robed choir in great voice, and the Rev Pat Brown, from Tadley, read one of the lessons.
