COME and join the fun. That is the message from two Eastleigh teenagers whose social club for fellow young people with disabilities has gone from strength to strength.

Youngsters from all over the county have been visiting Jenna Gastrell, 18, and Jemma Saunders, 19, at their club J's to enjoy a range of activities and company.

Members have seen films, visited restaurants and taken in performances at The Point arts centre.

But the pair are concerned that other disabled youngsters are missing out on the action and are eager for new members.

Jenna, of Barrington Close, Boyatt Wood, Eastleigh, said: "It gives young people with physical disabilities somewhere to go and socialise. We want to build on what we've got and make it better."

Jemma, of Maypole Villas, Allbrook, and Jenna had already worked with several projects such as supporting an animal shelter and a playscheme before launching J's.

Jenna, who has cerebral palsy, said: "It's been hard work but really beneficial. I've made lots of new friends and my confidence has gone up."

Jemma, who has a growth deficiency, is now putting the skills she has developed to good use at children's nursery Stepping Stones in Portswood, Southampton, where she works full-time.
