SCIENCE-mad youngsters from schools across Hampshire are celebrating this week after taking part in a competition to find the county's engineers of the future.
Four schools picked up cash prizes after taking part in Southampton Institute's "Great Egg Race" 2004, staged by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and the institute's Faculty of Technology.
The challenge was to design and build a model dockside crane that would lift and manoeuvre a model boat with egg cargo. Prizes were presented at INTEC - Winchester's hands-on interactive science and technology centre.
