AFTER no doubt enjoying themselves over the Christmas break, it was back to business for King Edwards and Embley Park in an under-18 schools' match.
Once on court, the teams received a rude awakening - the cold and windy conditions making netball tricky and the limbs cold.
However, the contest soon warmed up with the teams well matched in the first quarter play and trading point for point.
Although the scoring was close, it was not that frequent as both defences found it easier than usual to intercept passes in the strong wind.
As the match progressed it was plain to see how much the girls were enjoying being on court - the performance of King Edwards' Eliza Ellerby being of a particularly impressive level. She was the main link for her team, helping King Edwards pull together as a unit.
By the end of the third quarter Embley had nudged ahead by one point - goal attack Ellie Armstrong intercepting an indifferent pass and successfully shooting for a score.
The last quarter the game increased in tempo and King Edwards came on strong. They turned over three Embley passes and took full advantage to triumph 16-13.
