WHETHER you prefer your blues traditional or contemporary, there should be something for everybody at Ashcroft Arts Centre, Fareham, on Saturday.
Michael Messer, a leading exponent of acoustic resonator guitars with an impressive vocal style, will be there with his long-time musical partner Ed Genis on rhythm guitar for what promises to be an engrossing gig.
A big favourite on the festival scene with countless appearances at the Bishopstock Blues Festival, WOMAD, Cambridge Folk Festival and many European festivals to his name, Michael has been compared to the likes of guitar superstars Ry Cooder and Duane Allman.
Having recently been nominated for Best Blues Album 2003 by the International Guitar Federation, Michael Messer's reputation as one of the best acoustic slide guitar players on the planet is backed up by a formidable knowledge of the history of his instrument and the blues in general.
Tickets cost £9. Box office: 01329 310600.
