LAUNCHING their new CD, Undressed, this local folk-rock band entertained an enthusiastic crowd in the friendly Forest Arts Centre with a varied mix of original songs and covers by U2, REM and The Levellers.

Lead singer Charlie Rose, with an energetic presence and an unusual vocal range, excelled in Growing Up Has Just Begun, inspired by the tragic events of September 11.

The powerful lyrics of Red Waters - an environmental protest against commercial whaling - the atmospheric Frightened of the Dark and the charmingly quirky Marilyn all sparkled in two well-paced sets.

Although some of the numbers yelled out for the depth and attack provided by traditional bass and drums, there was some beautifully subtle and effective percussion, lead guitar and banjo featured in many original and excellent compositions.
