Sir.-I find it amazing that your recent correspondent Mr Beevers is against eco windmills "Siting concerns for windfarms", considering he is so against pollution, i.e. preferring insects on the village duck pond rather than ducks, as he says they are polluters.
There are loads of eco windmills around Cornwall that we visit regularly. They are such a pleasure to see, and are not unsightly by any means.
They blend in well with surrounding countryside and are not noisy - rather, the sound is like a gentle blowing wind.
I am all for a "greener" land, using solar energy and clean wind, to replace the more traditional polluting sources such as nuclear. Eco electricity does not pollute or run out, and is no dearer in price either.
Eco windmills produce global cooling, unlike the global warming that normal electricity produces, by using mostly fossil fuel. I would willingly welcome an eco windmill in our garden, with the knowledge that we were helping to produce green energy - a natural product.
-Mrs J Shurgold, Southlea, Cliddesden.
