WINE Tasting Social Group: Response to the informal Wine Tasting Social Group has been good.
These are to be held fortnightly and start on Thursday, with 12 sessions in all, aimed at the complete novice.
Though the venue will not be the village hall, it will be in the Brookvale area.
Two or three places are still available. Contact me on the above number for details.
REDEVELOPMENT: The application for redevelopment of land to the rear of 56-64 Queens Road has been approved, despite objections being received.
There were two options presented and the one approved allows for two two-bedroomed houses and two three-bedroomed houses.
THEATRE: At the time of writing there are still a few seats left for the Proteus Theatre presentation of Colonel Cody.
This begins at 3pm on Sunday, January 25. Seats are £6 each and can be reserved by contacting me.
CARETAKER/cleaner: The village hall is still in need of a caretaker/cleaner, and anyone who would like to know more about the hours and rate of pay should contact Lin on 329475.
BROOKVALE Community Association: With less than three months until the next AGM, now is the time for potential new members to "come out of the woodwork".
The current committee has reluctantly held its posts for this last year, but this will not continue.
If you value the use of your village hall, please take a moment to consider its possible fate without a local committee to run it.
