A FOUR-BEDROOM house is to be built in Heath Road, Soberton, after council planners ignored objections from the local parish council and people living nearby.
The property will be built on an infill plot along the road and means a garage on the site will have to be demolished.
Members of the parish council objected to the scheme, arguing the size of the property was out of keeping with other houses along the road.
Other local residents wrote seven letters of objection saying the application ignored the council's own planning guidelines.
However, Winchester City Council overturned these objections, concluding the proposed development was in keeping with the surrounding area.
